Cheesie is a sweet girl who came to at Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave., as a skinny stray. Her tag number is A33691194.
A pit bull mix, she is about 3 to 5 years old. She has some hair loss, most likely due to her poor nutrition, but it should grow back nicely now that she’s getting proper meals. She is great on a leash and knows the “sit” command.
Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Duke is named after the beloved John Wayne. The cat likes to snuggle, play and follow people around.
He was rescued as a baby and is with Northeast Animal Rescue. He would like to share all his energy with a family. He gets along well with cats and children. Duke, 3 months old, is neutered and current on vaccinations, and is negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.
